About

Welcome to BBASS, we hope that you will find our service supportive during this difficult time.

BBASS is managed by two co-ordinators who are employed by Volunteer Cornwall. The service works in partnership with Age UK Cornwall, Macmillan Nurses from Macmillan Cancer Support and Peninsula Healthcare. Volunteer Cornwall is an organisation dedicated to developing active and engaged people through volunteering matching people who want to volunteer with organisations that need volunteers.

BBASS is a National Lottery funded project that aims to provide support  to people who are aged 50 and over by selecting volunteers to support people from pre-loss  through to moving on to a new life without their loved one…

How will we do this:

Pre-loss:

  •  By signposting you to resources and services
  • By being with you through your bereavement journey
  • By providing you with someone to talk to

Post-bereavement:

  •  By signposting you to resources and services
  • By providing information to help the you deal with various aspects in relation to death
  • By providing a befriending service for you if wished
  • By providing clinical support for you through referrals to GP’s or counselling services where appropriate
