With the development of Bbass’ media networks, we’ve now added Twitter and Facebook accounts to help extend the ways that we communicate with the public and partner organisations.
Anyone visiting our blog should now see a link to our Facebook page and a short feed of our most recent Twitter posts to the right of the screen.
If you have a Twitter/Facebook account, please do follow us as we’d love to create better links though the various social networks.
The recruitment campaign is going well. On the first day we have had 1111 opens on newsletter that resulted in 275 hits on Bbass recruitment page. It’s become quite addictive watching the hits go up steadily throughout the day. It’s all linked to my iPhone, so wherever I am I can see how the campaign is going.

The language of bereavement and grief are explored by writer Michael Rosen, as he talks to psychologists, teachers, hospice workers, childrens charities, and visits a Death Cafe.
Winstons Wish is a charity for children who have lost a parent, brother or sister. Michael sits in on a training session for teachers and carers in Cheltenham, and discovers how the language we use can either confuse or comfort young children. He talks to psychologist Colin Murray Parkes about the stages of grieving and the psychological complexity of dealing with loss. And he visits a Death Cafe, where like-minded people come together to discuss anything and everything about death and dying, whilst
enjoying tea and cake.

Bbass hopes to work with Dr Woodthorpe in the future. The plan is that she will undertake the reasearch element of the project.
We are begining to find and be made aware of other projects and initiatives in and around Cornwall, and farther afield. A very useful site is Way Up that is an internet based berievement support group for people who are widowed and over 50. Full details and a history of Way Up can be found in the Way Up Brochure
There is also a dedicated site for those under 50 called The Way Foundation. You may find it worth having a look at both sites.
Joanne, the East Coordinator, and I had a great meeting yesterday with Sue, a new volunteer who wants to get involved in the befriending side of the scheme. Sue is one of those inspirational people you occasionally meet, who inspires you to do more and charges up your batteries.
